Tryon Downtown Development Association unveils 2025 event lineup

TRYON-– After a successful year in 2024, the Tryon Downtown Development Association recently announced its event calendar for 2025. With a mix of returning events and fresh ideas in the works, the TDDA is focused on enhancing community engagement and drawing more visitors to the heart of downtown.
In recent months, the association has embarked on various initiatives for community enhancement, including developing landscaping plans, reviewing downtown ordinances, and creating additional community spaces to foster social interaction and local culture.
The 2025 event lineup started with the highly-anticipated ribbon-cutting and grand re-opening of The Nest Corner Market on Friday, January 31, at 5 p.m., marking a significant milestone for the community as it continues to evolve its local business landscape.
February will see the return of the Fourth Friday tradition on February 28, featuring a lively Chili Cookoff from 5 to 7 p.m. This event promises to bring together the community in a friendly competition showcasing culinary talent.
As spring arrives, the TDDA will host its Second Saturday event on April 12, including a pizza-themed activity, details of which are still being finalized, at Depot Plaza from 12 to 3 p.m.
In May, the Fourth Friday celebration on May 23 will focus on historic preservation, inviting residents and visitors alike to recognize and celebrate the rich history of Tryon from 5 to 7 p.m.
June 27 will spotlight the International Food Festival as part of the Fourth Friday festivities, again welcoming food lovers from 5 to 7 p.m. to explore global cuisines.
As summer continues, the Fourth Friday on August 22 will feature the Tryon Dog Mayor elections, where local canines will vie for the title from 5 to 7 p.m.
Finally, the community will come together on September 13 for the BBQ Beatdown, an event set to take place on McCown Street that promises to be a culinary highlight of the season.
The TDDA remains committed to enhancing the downtown experience, encouraging strong community ties, and delivering an exciting range of events that showcase the spirit of Tryon. As the year unfolds, residents and visitors are invited to participate, enjoy, and create cherished memories in their downtown community.
