POLK COUNTY—Polk County Schools, in collaboration with the Polk Schools Fund through the Polk County Community Foundation, will host the annual Polk Cares 4 Kids fundraising event on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.

The event, slated for the third floor of TIEC’s International Pavilion, will begin at 5 p.m. It is an effort to raise funds to help with the significant costs associated with extracurricular experiences, arts programming, and athletics participation provided to students throughout Polk County Schools at no charge to them or their families. While many public school districts have reduced or ended funding for these programs or charge participation fees to students, Polk County Schools believes these opportunities should be available to all students without fees or barriers.

The evening, open to adults age 21 and older, will include dinner, entertainment, and silent and live auctions. Attendees will have the chance to bid on various items, including gift packages, event tickets and contributions from local businesses such as Becker Electric and Stott’s Ford.

The event includes a reception at 5 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., a live auction at 7:30 p.m., and entertainment from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Individual tickets are $150, couples’ tickets are $200, and table sponsorships are available for $1,000.

Local businesses and organizations can support PC4K by sponsoring tables or donating auction items. Individuals can purchase tickets at the Stearns Education Center, Polk County High School, or Polk County Middle School. Donations to the general fund or specific programs are also accepted.

Checks for sponsorships, ticket purchases, or donations should be made payable to “Polk County Schools – PC4K” and submitted to Aaron Greene or Jim Hemphill at Stearns Education Center. Donations can also be made payable to the Polk Schools Fund with “PC4K” in the memo line.
