Timeless holiday tradition returns Dec. 12-15
TRYON—A holiday classic is returning to the foothills this December as Shakespeare & Friends will present “A Christmas Carol” at the Tryon Fine Arts Center Pavilion.
Directed by Marianne Carruth, “A Christmas Carol” will be an immersive theatrical experience using state-of-the-art sound and light technology—while staying true to the timeless message of Charles Dickens’ beloved tale.
“This show, with this creative team, is balm to a weather-beaten soul,” says Carruth. “The play brings a message that bears repeating, and the cast is a creative, generous group that surprises and delights.”
From Ebenezer Scrooge’s office to the Cratchits’ dinner table to those otherworldly excursions through time courtesy of the prophetic ghosts, the audience will travel every step of the way on Scrooge’s journey to redemption. The Shakespeare & Friends production will be a family-friendly event, complete with holiday festivities, including cheerful Christmas decorations, live music, seasonal refreshments, and more.
“A Christmas Carol” will run Thursday, December 12, through Sunday, December 15, with each performance beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students under 18 and are available at tryonarts.org or by calling 828-859-8322.
