Polk Bass has ‘good day’ in Lake Russell tournament

Polk County Bass Team fielded three entries in Saturday’s Palmetto Boat Center High School Tournament Trail competition on Lake Russell, located on the border of South Carolina and Georgia.

More than 130 teams from three states competed in the event.

Banks Barner and Tanner Osborn led Polk County’s efforts, placing 32nd after catching five fish weighing 7.98 pounds.

Konnor Huskey and Wyatt Highsmith placed 76th with four fish weighing a total of 5.12 pounds while Dakota Casturao made his team debut and tied for 123rd.

“A good day on a tough lake,” said Polk Bass coach Chauncey Barber.

Brady Garrison and Riley Haney of Madison County won the tournament with five fish weighing in at 16.74 pounds.
