TRYON—Ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses were spotted in downtown Tryon on Halloween night, as businesses and organizations were open for trick-or-treaters along Trade Street.

Hosted by the Tryon Downtown Development Association, the annual Tryon Halloween Stroll did not disappoint.

“This is so much fun,” said Julia Roddenberry of Tryon, who had several trick-or-treaters in tow. “We all look forward to it every year.”

Children and adults alike were bedecked in fantastic costumes, and the atmosphere at this year’s event was one of camaraderie, fun and excitement: all things very much needed in light of the recent natural disaster in the region.

The costume contest, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Tryon at the Clocktower, featured dozens of impressive costumes. In the age group of 7 to 14, “a stack of pancakes” took first place. Kiwanian Andy Millard emceed the contest.

Beetlejuice, Wednesday Addams, and Star Wars characters were all popular Halloween costumes this year. For more photos of the event, visit tryondailybulletin.com.
