COLUMBUS—The Polk County Indoor Winter Farmers Market will kick off its season on November 2 at Iron Key Brewing Company, 135 Locust St. in Columbus. The market will be held in the historic mess hall behind the brewery.
This beloved community event did not occur during October due to Helene. It returns ts on the first and third Saturdays of every month from November through April, providing a vibrant space for local vendors and residents alike.
The market has been a staple in the community for over a decade, showcasing local produce, handmade crafts, artisanal goods, freshly baked bread, and various specialty items from meat ranchers, beekeepers and growers. It’s not just about shopping; the market fosters a sense of community where neighbors can come together over a cup of hot coffee, all while enjoying the comforts of a warm, indoor environment, regardless of the weather outside.
Furry friends are welcome at the event, as well. This allows for a family-friendly atmosphere where pets can mingle with vendors set up outside.
The Polk County Community Foundation’s support makes the market possible. For the latest updates, sign up for the weekly newsletter and follow the market’s social media pages. Complete vendor information and the application are available on the market’s website.
