LANDRUM—The Landrum Farmers Market features an assortment of delicious items, and the Cinch Spice Blends booth helps provide the little spice that often makes a meal taste just right.

The brainchild of Caroline Henson and Catherine Wilson, Cinch came about after Caroline went on a trip to Italy four years ago and brought back some delightful spices that they found challenging to order here in the States. So they decided they would try to recreate it.

“We were able to create something very similar,” says Wilson. “And it was delicious, and we started to create our other favorite blends like taco and steak seasoning. We started giving the spices as gifts. Before long, people requested more. And we decided to start a little business out of it.”

The pair then began selling their spices at the local farmers markets in Columbus, Saluda, and Landrum, sharing their creations. They named their business Cinch because it was a “cinch” to spice up a meal with their seasonings.

“Our spices are already blended up,” adds Wilson. “They make meal prep very easy. We sell three salt-free flavors and others with high-quality salt. We buy all our spices from a local co-op, and all our products are organic with no fillers, sugar, or preservatives.”

Sabroso, the Italian/Mediterranean blend, is their flagship spice, which started it all. Additionally, they offer Bayou Blend, El Corso, Middle Eastern, El Gusto, Garlic Ranch, and Rosa Salt Blend, which makes up their main line. They also sell limited edition holiday spices, variety, and sample packs, and show off their artistic skills by selling colorful painted holiday rocks.

“We consider the Landrum Farmers Market family,” Wilson said. “It’s the first market we did and started when it was on Trade St. It’s just a great market, and the community is really invested in it.”

You can find Cinch Spice Blends on Saturday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon at the Landrum Farmers Market and online at cinchspiceblends.com.
