COLUMBUS—Polk County will debut its 2024 football team on Friday as part of a six-team scrimmage in G.M. Tennant Stadium.

The Wolverines will begin the evening’s action at 6 p.m., facing McDowell. At 7 p.m., Cherryville will face Liberty (S.C.), with Owen meeting Blue Ridge (S.C.) at 8 p.m.

Junior varsity teams from many of the schools will also hold a scrimmage starting at 4 p.m.

Polk County will close its preseason on August 16, traveling to East Henderson for a 6 p.m. scrimmage.
