Severe thunderstorm warning issued for parts of Polk County

POLK COUNTY—The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of the area, including the southern portion of Polk County. The warning is in effect until 4:15 p.m.
The warning also includes south-central Rutherford County, northeastern Greenville County, northwestern Cherokee County, and Spartanburg County.
At 3:22 p.m., radar indicated a severe thunderstorm located 10 miles southeast of Columbus, moving at 20 mph in a southeast direction.
The warning says wind gusts of 60 mph are possible, as well as damage to trees and power lines.
It advises residents to move to an interior room of a building on the lowest floor.
