SALUDA—Works by local artist Karen Johnson will be on display at Saluda Library through the end of August. Karen will be at the library to discuss her work at an artist reception on Friday, August 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Karen has lived in Saluda for 45 years and is grateful that she was able to raise her children there. She is happy with simple graphite and paper, and her work reflects her love of family and the nature around her.
“A chance to share art is an important step in the art process,” Karen says. “First is the challenge of creating and expressing one’s self, hopefully in a pleasing way to some degree. An opportunity to share that work is a grateful one. My hope, as for many pursuits, is that in some way, our efforts make the world a little better.”
