POLK COUNTY—Polk County School’s PEAK After School Program has recently been awarded a grant that will allow it to expand and continue its mission.
The Cohort 17 Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers grant will help the after-school program support preschool through 12th grade students, including those at Polk County Early College. The CCLC grant-funded initiative will further the program’s goals by providing small group tutoring, community and character-building lessons, enrichment opportunities, and caregiver education.
The PEAK After School program offers tailored schedules for different age groups at all six district schools, ensuring that elementary, middle, and high school students have access to the support they need. The program operates on an application basis, and consistent attendance is required to ensure continued student funding and support.
With the support of the CCLC grant, PEAK After School is poised to impact the educational experience of Polk County students significantly.
