SALUDA—The Saluda Historic Depot and Museum has been awarded a Polk County Community Foundation grant to fund the third annual Night at the Museum project.
This event’s purpose is to help fulfill the mission of the Saluda Historic Depot, which is to unite citizens in the preservation and operation of the museum, emphasizing the significance and contribution of the railroad, the Saluda Grade, and the history of Saluda.
It was announced on June 28 that the museum would receive the money to fund this free community event, which will be held in October. Funds will cover costumes, food, and music for the event. Area citizens are invited to attend and view the reenactment of our area’s history.
The Saluda Historic Depot and Museum’s Board Members are very grateful to the Polk County Community Foundation for their support, which will help preserve and maintain the Saluda Historic Depot and Museum as a local historical destination for our area communities.
The Saluda Historic Depot is open weekly Thursday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
