MILL SPRING—Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus Baptist Church are gearing up to host the annual Back 2 School Bash event, where students and their families can unwind for a day of play while receiving supplies for the upcoming school year. The free event will take place on August 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Polk County Middle School.
At the event, students will be able to play games, listen to music, and enjoy other activities while picking up free school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, binders, pencils, and more. Haircuts will be offered to students who look forward to starting the school year with a fresh new look.
Since teaming up at the 2022 Back 2 School Bash, PCSO and Columbus Baptist Church have been able to help hundreds of students with school supplies who may not have been able to receive the supplies they needed on their own.
Many donors, volunteers, and sponsors contributed to this year’s event, including Carolina Chiropractic Plus, The Equine Journey, MAHEC Dental Health Center, Girl Scouts of the Carolinas, Salon 3:15, The Sanctuary at Red Bell Run, The Hope Chest, The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Blue Ridge Health, and many local law enforcement and rescue agencies.
Polk County Middle School is located at 321 Wolverine Trail in Mill Spring.
