The Tryon Country Club Men’s Golf Association played a “Mixed Bag” format along with closest-to-the-pin contests on the par 3s on April 22. The weather was clear and cool and there were some impressive scores among the nine groups playing. The results were as follows:

 

1st place – Jerry Pospisil, Richard Barraud, Bill Basye, Jim Shirley – 55

2nd place – Doug Gelbert, Mike Axelrod, Dennis Felker, Simon Turnnidge – 58

3rd place – Mike Bates, Jerry Perry, Gerry Holstein, Fred Lindsley – 58

4th place – Russ Rabenstein, Bill McCall, John House, (BP) Jim Shirley – 60
