Notes from Foothills Music Club’s February meeting

The Foothills Music Club met on Thursday, February 8, at Tryon First Baptist Church.

The theme for the program was “How the Spirit Moves Me,” which included mostly sacred music. Members enjoyed hearing traditional hymns, folk hymns, Afro-American spirituals and selections from composers such as Charles Gounod, Johannes Brahms and Leonard Bernstein.  

Members performed vocally and on piano, bassoon, flute and harmonica.
