Tre Crite fueled an early Brevard scoring frenzy Tuesday that powered the Blue Devils to an 85-66 victory over Polk County in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference action in Brevard.
Crite and fellow guard Eli Griffin teamed to score 21 first-quarter points, helping the Devils (9-8, 2-4) build a 30-12 advantage by the end of the period. Trite added nine more points in the second period and finished with a game-high 32 points.
Polk County (3-14, 1-5) trailed 54-31 at the half, but played on even terms with Brevard in the final two quarters.
Avery Harden had 19 points to lead the Wolverines, with Gunnar Alm adding 18 and Aaron Jackson scoring 13. Lawson Carter added eight points, with Khalil Austin scoring six and Nolan Simpson adding two.
Polk County returns home Friday to face Patton as the second half of the Wolverines’ conference schedule begins.
