The Roseland Community Center’s annual Kwanzaa celebration will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2023, beginning at 4 pm at the Center at 56 Peake St. in Tryon.
Similar to last year’s gathering, the program, titled “Visions of Freedom,” will feature elements of Kwanzaa and Watch Night, both distinctively African American holidays, combined with traditional New Year’s toasts, lots of good food, music and fellowship, and door prizes.
The evening will pay special tribute to the senior citizens of The Eastside Community as Roseland launches a new year of service to the community.
All are invited to attend at no charge, as the celebration is funded in part by a Holiday Cheer Grant from the Polk County Community Foundation.
