GREEN CREEK— Linda Jones, an employee at Green River Plantation House, is celebrating her 30th work anniversary. Linda’s positive attitude and exceptional work ethic have made her one of the most recognizable faces at Green River House, where she has served customers, catered events and worked roughly 450 weddings.
Her longevity has also allowed her to work with her daughters and even granddaughter over the years. Linda is a dedicated family person and speaks highly of her children’s work ethic and accomplishments.
Linda considers her co-workers as family, and the feeling goes both ways. Current co-owner Amanda Cantrell, who started Green River Catering in 1998, says, “She’s like family. She’s awesome! “
Co-worker Rebecca Watkins says, “She’s the glue that holds us together. If you need help, she’s got you and always jumps in to fill in the gaps.”
Jones says, “We love teamwork here. We are always positive no matter what happens and I’ve also enjoyed working with my children because, with them, you know what buttons to push and, more importantly, not to push.”
Jones loves working at Green River, surrounded by history and antiques, and meeting new people. She takes pride in providing top-notch services and putting smiles on people’s faces. Despite having worked for 30 years at Green River, Jones remains humble, and many customers come back to see her.
Green River House provides tours, weddings, teas in the tea room, and on-site and off-site catering. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of employees like Linda Jones, Green River House has earned a reputation as one of the best places to visit in Green Creek.
