Debra Giles, a 9th grade English teacher at Landrum High School, recently was selected as the Distinguished Reading Teacher of the Year for Spartanburg County District One Schools. Giles is in her sixth year of teaching and is head of the English department, sponsor of the Beta Club and a member of the Southern Regional Education Board Leadership Team.
