Tryon Little Theater will present “The Mousetrap” —Agatha Christie’s famous murder mystery—for two weekends at the TLT Workshop Theater on November 9-12 and 16-19.
“The Mousetrap” opened in London’s West End in 1952, closed temporarily in March 2020 due to Covid, then reopened in May of that year, and is still running! By November 2022, the show had its 28,195th performance and had been seen by over 10 million people in London alone. And now it’s coming to TLT.
The show is directed by Jim Powell, who you may have seen in some recent TLT productions, but he has acted —and directed — in many shows over the years in Chicago, San Diego and Michigan. He has over 100 performances under his belt, including playing the title role in “Macbeth.” “The Mousetrap” is his directorial debut at TLT.
The cast members are all seasoned actors, and they are thrilled to be part of the production. Lou Buttino, Darlene Cah, Carol Cox, Susan Ferguson, Luke Laughter, Preston Pyatt, Alex Tapp and Allanah Updegraff will play an eclectic mix of characters sure to enthrall and confuse you. A whodunit, the play has a twist ending —which the audience is traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre.
Tickets are $20 and $12 for those under 18 and can be purchased online at www.tltinfo.org, or by calling 828-859-2466.
