With the cold and flu season fast approaching, it’s important to take all precautions. On October 18, Saluda Living in Place (SLIP) will be working with The Foundation of St. Luke’s Hospital to offer a free vaccine clinic at the Saluda Center beginning at 10 a.m. Flu shots, COVID boosters, and RSV vaccines will be available from 10 a.m. until noon. The Saluda Center is located at 64 Greenville St. in downtown Saluda.
On the same day, SLIP will offer a guided tour of Lake Lure. Discover the beauty and charm of Lake Lure on a covered boat tour. Listen to the legends of the lake and learn about the natural and cultural history of Hickory Nut Gorge. Subsidized by SLIP, the cost is only $10 per person. Attendees will meet at the Saluda Library parking lot at 1:30 p.m., and transportation to Lake Lure will be provided by a bus from Polk County Public Transportation. If interested in either event, register at saludalivinginplace@gmail.com, or by mail at P.O. Box 422, Saluda, NC 28773, by October 11.
