MILL SPRING—The Special Olympics North Carolina Equestrian Tournament will be held at Tryon International Equestrian Center from September 22 through September 24, and organizers are asking for volunteers to help with the event.
Some volunteer roles may require knowledge of horses. However, general volunteers are also needed for things like awards presentations and meal services.
Each fall, Special Olympics North Carolina athletes compete in showmanship, dressage, western riding, gymkhana races, equitation and working trails at the tournament.
“This is such a great community event,” says Special Olympics Polk County Coordinator Jane Ollis. “We encourage members of the community to volunteer, and to come out and see these wonderful athletes in action.”
