Event will raise funds and donate garments to local charity
TRYON–Wild Petunias, a unique gift shop and boutique in downtown Tryon, will host the third annual Steps to HOPE Trunk Show charity event on Friday, June 23.
The event will feature local designer Michelle Parisou, who owns a dress shop in Rutherfordton. The designer will donate one dress to an individual who is assisted by Steps to HOPE for every garment sold. In addition, Wild Petunias is also offering 20% off any Michelle Parisou purchase from June 18 to June 24.
Steps to HOPE provides assistance to victims of domestic violence through advocacy and education.
All the garments are locally made in Rutherfordton at Parisou’s workshop. The designer’s merchandise is sold at the Ritz Carlton, Marriott and over 300 high-end shops and resorts worldwide.
“Knowing that for every garment purchased, a Steps to HOPE client also receives one warms my heart,” said Wild Petunias owner Connie Cook. “It is my hope that even in what must feel like the darkest days, a beautiful Michelle Parisou garment will lift each recipient’s spirits to give her a sense of hope, confidence and self-worth.”
This is the third year that Wild Petunias has hosted the Trunk Show. Donations from the two previous events totaled nearly $4,000 of retail value.
“Wild Petunias is grateful to our customers, Michelle Parisou and our surrounding community for continuing to support Steps to HOPE and the important work they do,” said Cook.
The 3rd annual Steps to Hope Trunk Show will be held at Wild Petunias in Tryon, located at 112 N. Trade St., Suite 6. The event will last from 5 to 7 p.m.
