LANDRUM-The Landrum Farmers Market will host the much anticipated 16th biennial Landrm  Quilt Show from June 15 through June 17.

The show is being orchestrated by Program Chair and 2nd Vice President Susan Manning, along with Quilt Show Chairs Debbie Myers and Willa Garber. The Landrum Quilters began in 1979, and the first Landrum Quilt Show was in 1990, taking place every other odd year since.

The event will feature over 150 quilts, boutique and merchant stalls and a silent auction. Southern Smokery BBQ, Pietro’s Pizza and Philco’s food vendors will be onsite on Saturday the 17th.

“We will have many items for sale in our Boutique, all items made by Landrum Quilters members,” said Manning. “We will also have a Silent Auction for many items and finally we will have mystery bags of fabric.” 

There will also be a raffle for a quilt, made by Elaine Hewitt, Verlie Murphy and Jackie Callis.  

Quilt industry and service vendors will be attending from as far as Durham and Greenville. Terry Bozon, owner of ‘I Sharpen It’ of Flat Rock, will also be onsite to sharpen scissors, knives and tools on Saturday the 17th. Items for sharpening must be checked in during the show.

The last Quilt Show in Landrum took place in 2019, with the 2021 event being canceled due to covid. 

The show will take place inside the Landrum Farmers Market building located at 221 W. Rutherford St., with the Farmers Market itself being moved that weekend to the green next to the Hare and the Hound restaurant. “The new venue gives us more room in a large one-room facility,” said Manning. 

The Landrum Quilt Show will be open Thursday the 15th and Friday the 16th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday the 17th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5. For more information by contacting Susan Manning at suzie861@yahoo.com or 828-290-6749.
