Both men given first court appearance Wednesday
TRYON–A former Polk County employee and his son were charged earlier this week with taking indecent liberties with a child.
On Monday, Larry Walker, 60, and Chris Walker, 39, both of Flat Rock Hill Rd. in Tryon, were taken into custody by Polk County Sheriff’s Office investigators without incident.
Larry Walker is a former government employee who previously worked as Solid Waste Director for the county.
The two men were taken before a magistrate, who issued a $20,000 secured bond for each. Both were given an initial court appearance in Polk County District Court on Wednesday.
This is a developing story. The Tryon Daily Bulletin will provide updates as they become available.
