John Allen Rhodes, 73, passed away on Friday, May 5th, after a long, brave struggle against Parkinson’s Disease. He died in his home with his family by his side.

John was a graduate of the State University of New York in Albany and had a long career as an operations manager in the distribution industry. There he worked diligently and tirelessly to support his family throughout his life.

John loved singing and playing the guitar, fishing, and hiking with his family. He also was a devoted and beloved member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Tryon, North Carolina. It was through the church and the gospels that John found his true calling, and he was a faithful servant of the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Rhodes, and his parents Thomas and Margaret Rhodes. He is survived by his sons and their spouses: Jordan and Dara Rhodes, Alexander and Mandy Rhodes, Benjamin Rhodes; his six grandchildren; his brother and spouse, Thomas and Pamela Rhodes; and by his sister and spouse, Elizabeth (Betsy) and Wayne Williams.
