Edgar inducted into Second Wind Hall of Fame

The Board of Directors of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Carolina Foothills nominated Robin Edgar for induction into the Second Wind Hall of Fame and the Board of Second Wind Hall of Fame accepted the nomination. Robin was officially inducted at the Prom for Seniors by Megan Young, pastor of the Tryon Congregational Church.
Robin has served on the board of UUFCF since 2014, three times as board president. She organized the Community Coffee House event., and has been active with Thermal Belt Friendship Council for over four years, organizing the student Art & Essay Scholarship Competitions.
She developed and operated Organic Chicken Feed Cooperative for Polk County Community since 2017. In addition, Robin has organized many fundraising activities for various organizations. Robin and her husband David moved to Tryon from Charlotte. She is a writer with several books on Tryon. She holds a BA in English, communications and theater. Robin has three children. She would like to be remembered “for making the world a better place.”
The mission of Second Wind is to identify those outstanding volunteers who contribute so much to the quality of life in our community, and to provide recognition of retirees sixty years and over who have had a useful and productive life continuing beyond retirement, while others paused to rest. They caught a ‘second wind’ and began a new career of service to the community and to mankind.
Second Wind Hall of Fame is a 501(c)(3) organization and welcomes nominations for induction. Request for nomination forms may be sent to carolbrowning72@gmail.com.
