Polk County Middle’s Brody Wilkins put together his best career round Wednesday, posting a 39 to finish fourth in the Blue Ridge Conference Golf Tournament.
Wilkins carded his 39 at Cummings Cove Golf and Country Club, giving him a two-round total of 83. Hendersonville’s Trey Trantham finished 43-36–79 to win the conference title, with Rugby’s Duke Nitcher at 81 and Bethel’s Finn Fox at 82.
Wilkins had the second-lowest round on Wednesday, his day including a pair of birdies.
“I’m very proud of Brody,” said Polk Middle golf coach Kenny Hall. “He has put in a ton of extra work this season to improve his game. He started play with a double bogey, followed it up with a birdie, then played very consistently the rest of the way. His goal this season was to get under 40, and he rocked it today.”
Rugby Middle took the team title by two strokes over Macon Middle.
