Cardinals end regular season with 4-game win streak

LANDRUM – The Landrum Cardinals Varsity Baseball team ended their season on a four-game win streak to finish out the regular season and bring their overall record to 12-12, 2-6 in the Region.
The Cardinals rebounded from a close 7-6 road loss on April 18 to Blacksburg (14-8, 6-1) with a blowout 12-0 win over non-region opponent Broome (4-12) at home on April 20 to begin their winning streak. They followed it up the next day with another double-digit blowout victory, 15-0, against Region foe, the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors (2-13, 0-7), sweeping the season series against the Warriors by a combined score of 29-1.
They returned to play on April 25, with a home non-conference win 3-2 against the Woodruff Wolverines (11-8). Landrum then wrapped up their regular season schedule with a 13-3 win against another non-region team, the Whitmire Wolverines (10-14).
The Cardinals finished 4th in 2A Region 1 and will next play in the Region tournament. Game times have yet to be announced. On the season, they were 10-5 at home and 2-7 on the road scoring 177 total runs and giving up 142.
