Polk County Farm Bureau, PCHS construction class, teachers partner to bring project to life

Polk County Farm Bureau women’s committee has been working with the high school construction teachers and students to bring a project to life after years in the making.

Farm Bureau donates ‘Ag in the Classroom’ books of the month to all four elementary schools in Polk County. The women’s committee goes into each school and reads these books to classes and often has a project related to the books to do with students. There are lesson plans that also come with each book for teachers to reference.

Thanks to the high school construction class and teachers, the ‘Ag in the Classroom’ books now have their very own book barn at each school library. The book barns were presented this month at each school, with students and staff on hand to tell about the construction of each barn.

Farm Bureau thanks the construction crew for building the barns for our school libraries! If you are interested in learning more about Ag in the classroom please visit the website ncfb.org/ag-in-the-classroom/
