West Henderson’s volleyball team rebounded Thursday from a season-opening loss to Brevard – just barely.
Polk County pushed the Falcons in each set before falling 3-0 in a non-conference matchup in Mills River.
West claimed a 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 victory, handing Polk County (2-1) its first loss of the season.
Morgan Yoder had eight kills for Polk County, with Sophia Overholt adding five kills and 12 digs. Ada Kelley also had five kills and notched 10 digs.
Ella Waldman had 25 digs while Amberlyn Scruggs had 12 assists and eight digs. Zaelea Eller finished with 11 assists and 11 digs.
Elysia Smith finished with five blocks for Polk County, which travels Tuesday to Kings Mountain.
