The Lonesome Road Band, Seen on CBSs Your Carolina Morning Show!, will play a Candlelight Concert at The Wine Cellar in Saluda on Nov. 21.
Although the band uses the traditional tools of bluegrass in creating their music, to categorize them strictly as bluegrass would be a misrepresentation. Their repertoire consists of everything from Bill Monroes My Sweet Blue Eyed Darlin to the Moody Blues Nights In White Satin.
The band members have a long list of accolades with many things in common. Larry Keith has been with the band the longest. He has spent the past four years working with Dolly Parton. He says his greatest regret in his musical life was turning down a job offer from Bill Monroe in 1982.&bsp; Paul Eaton is the bands can do man, playing any and all instruments. His voice is his key instrument. Charles Wood, two-time national banjo champion, recently played with Earl Scruggs and Actor Steve Martin with a feature on the David Letterman Show. Reese Combs, Rockin Reese, plays the stand-up bass and is considered the foundation for the bands music.
Tickets for the November 21 concert are available at Biddies Antiques or The Wine Cellar.&bsp; For more information, call 828-749-9698.
