On Friday, June 24, Gather Community, a local nonprofit youth organization, held their second Hoopz summer basketball event. It was another successful tournament with six teams for a total of twenty-four registered players of various ages, including seven newcomers competing for fun prizes. 

 

Gather Community events are made possible with the help of their community sponsors, primarily Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina, Unity in the Community, Tryon Presbyterian Church, OpenRoad coffee, Food Lion, and their newest partner Thermal-Belt Outreach. These events are also aided and made possible by the numerous individuals who take time out of their week to volunteer so that these fantastic youth sports events can occur.
