Saturday was a day of protests and rallies across the country and here in Tryon as marchers in support of abortion rights took to the streets. On May 14, over 100 women and men, dressed in white shirts, joined a “flash mob” in the afternoon up and down Trade St. Cars driving by honked, some women sang, and Margaret Curtis, pictured center, gave a brief speech encouraging people to vote. A Supreme Court opinion that would overturn Roe V. Wade is expected in June.
