Upstate man becomes lucky winner 

CAMPOBELLO––An Upstate man won a grand prize of $100,000 from a $3 scratch off lottery ticket in Campobello.

The Briar Patch gas station on Asheville Highway in Campobello sold the $3 scratch off ticket to a man who stopped in to buy a drink. After purchasing the $3 Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword lottery ticket, he first thought he won $10, but a recount of his ticket revealed that he had won the $100,000 grand prize.

The Briar Patch got a $1,000 commission for selling one of the six remaining top-prize tickets. Five more top-prize tickets remain for the Lady Jumbo Bucks Crossword lottery game.
