Columbus– Martha Rawls Oates, 89, of 345 Woodland Drive, Columbus, NC passed away peacefully in her sleep under the care of Ridge Rest Assisted Living.
Born in Rock Hill, SC, Martha was the daughter of the late D.B. Rawls and Ruth Rawls. She was predeceased by her husband, James T. Oates, Sr. and her son James T. Oates, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Patricia N. Lovelace, Son in Law Michael H. Lovelace, Granddaughter Lindsey Weicker, her husband Cole Weicker, and great-grandson Casey Weicker.
Being a native of Rock Hill, SC, Martha was employed by Rock Hill Printing and Finishing Company-Springs Industries for 30 years and after retirement, worked at India Hook United Methodist Church.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Grand View Memorial Park in Rock Hill.  Services will be planned for a later date.
