Landrum– Alma Morris Carruth, 90, of Landrum passed away at her home on March 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Zelda McCrain Morris and wife of the late John James “Jack” Carruth, Jr.
When she retired from textiles, she raised her children with love and devotion in Landrum, SC with her husband Jack Carruth. She was the owner of Carruth Furniture Company in Landrum.
She is survived by three sons, John James Carruth III (Tammy) of Landrum, Michael Lynn Carruth (Marianne) of Tryon, and Steven Wayne Carruth (Beverly) of Spartanburg; three sisters Nancy Ruff, Barbara Stott, and Brenda Pack; one brother Russell “Buddy” Morris; 12 grandchildren Nicole Carruth Chapman (Jeff), Casey Carruth, Michael Lee Gordon, Graham Gordon, Joshua Carruth, Mattie Carruth (Erika), John Forrest “Jack” Carruth (Ariel), J.J. Carruth IV (Taylor), Garrison Carruth, Trevor Carruth (Sierra) and Katherine Hill (Brandon); six great-grandchildren Garret Walker (Katie), James Michael Carruth, Kaylee Gordon, William Carruth, Parker Carruth, and Gryffin Carruth and a special friend Estelle Abrams. She was predeceased by a daughter Patricia Carruth Gordon and two sisters, Bonnie Culbreth and Frances McDaniel, and two brothers Leroy Morris and Donald Morris.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Petty Funeral Home. Crypt side services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Mark Bishop.
