Oh, March…month of kites, wind, and sudden changes. One weekend, bitter winter sinks wicked claws in, then spring pushes back. 

 

With daylight saving time back, there was time last evening to go putter around the garden, uncovering tender plants and putting pots back in place from protected hiding spots I’d stuck them in before the big freeze and snow showers hit. A few came inside to find better lodgings. 

 

Some were frost-bit, some droopy, but I think everybody will come back out to play. That’s life, two steps back, one step forward, and on. Time to get those kites out and run with the wind!

SCLT’s Walks in the Woods resume this month with a walk on March 20 at Twin Bridges to enjoy spring wildflowers by the Pacolet River. Meet at Saluda Library’s parking lot at 2 p.m. to carpool.

Saluda Winter Market is every other Saturday through March at Saluda Center, 64 Greenville Street from 9-12. 

 

Saluda’s Mountain Page Theater starts a new season with YAK (Young Acting Krew) and the Mountain Page Players with the “Saturday Night Old Tyme Radio Series” featuring episodes from “Dragnet” and “Suspense Theater”. Saluda Living in Place (SLIP), a non-profit organization to help seniors age in place, can help those 60+ in the greater Saluda community with home safety  and much more.
