Tryon resident Rosemary Pleune celebrated her 90th birthday at the Lake Adger home of her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Gay Pleune, surrounded by her seven great-grandchildren. Pleune continues to be active in Kiwanis and the Tryon Congregational Church. In 2000, Rosemary received the Governor’s Award for outstanding volunteer service to her community.
