MILL SPRING – Roger Louis Gauen, 81, of Mill Spring passed away Saturday morning, March 20, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital.

 

Born in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Louis Gauen and Wilma Rogers Gauen. Mr. Gauen retired from Smurfit-Stone Containers as a salesman. He moved to Mill Spring in 2005 coming from Chicago. He and his wife Jeanine have owned and operated The Garden Patch in Columbus for the last 14 years. Mr. Gauen enjoyed woodworking, painting and made outstanding toffee and peanut brittle.

 

Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Jeanine Kilch Gauen; two sons, Curt Gauen (Carolyn) of Indianapolis, IN and Tim Gauen (Beth) of Chicago, IL; one brother, Pat Gauen (Karen) of Rochester, MN; one sister, Vicki Durham (Dean) of Collinsville, IL. Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

 

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
