It is no secret that the Rotary Club of Tryon is not the youngest group of people in our community. For this reason, when Dr. Broyles met with the Club last week, the topic of Alzheimer’s prevention and treatment was particularly relevant.
During her presentation, Dr. Broyles discussed the work she does with her patients following the Bredesen Protocol to treat dementia. The protocol focuses on treating the inflammation of the brain caused by dementia.
To help her patients deal with inflammation, Cr. Broyles suggests:
- Cardio & Weight exercise each week
- Regular sleep patterns
- Mentally challenging activities
- Diet including “colorful” foods
- Limiting toxic exposure
- Dietary supplements
The presentation wax very interesting and made all of the Rotarians take a serious look at how their daily activities can affect their overall health.
The Rotary Club of Tryon meets Thursday at noon. If you are interested in joining the Club, please contact President Stacey Lindsay at: 864-360-6170 or staceylindsay14@gmail.com
