Second grade students at Saluda Elementary in the classes of Christine McGee and Stephanie Fletcher recently worked together in class and in art class to participate in the 3rd annual Carl Sandburg Art Exhibit.
Collaboratively, the students completed four pieces of artwork inspired by Sandburg’s poem, “Night Movement.” In addition, students learned about Sandburg’s poetry, published their own poems inspired by Sandburg and presented these to the class using technology.
Though the Sandburg home is currently closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic, the art for the show has been posted on Flickr. Those can be viewed at https://flic.kr/s/aHsmHhTkN7.
