Tryon, NC—Barbara C. Mischler, of White Oak Village in Tryon, NC, passed March 1, 2020. She was passionately living a life that brought joy to all who knew her. Barb was a Great Depression baby, born on a warm day in Philadelphia. She put herself through college, receiving a degree in Education from Temple University. Barb provided a profoundly enriching environment for her kids, Judith and Mark, as a single mom.
She was the Department Head of Home Economics at Cheshire, CT High School where she developed new curriculum and texts for new courses, during which time she obtained her Master’s Degree in Education. Her home for the past thirty years has been Tryon, NC – indeed the “friendliest town in the South”. Barb was active in the Fine Arts Center of Tryon and many other philanthropic organizations. The last five years were spent at White Oak, where she relished creating new friendships. Barb’s husband, Robert J. Mischler, pre-deceased her. She is survived by her most loving and adoring children and grandkids, Max & Katie.
If you’re wanting to gift Barb’s memory, we ask that you give to the charity of your choice in her name.
Many Thanks!
