Each month FENCE offers a free, family concert on a Sunday afternoon. This month FENCE is excited to welcome back Sparkle City Brass. The performance will take place on Sunday, January 26 at 4:00 p.m. in the Great room. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served following the performance.
Sparkle City Brass is a professional brass quintet based out of Spartanburg, SC. Sparkle City Brass was started in 2003 by trombonist Mike Miller and a group of brass players from the Spartanburg area. Sparkle City Brass performs for a variety of events that include churches, Music Sandwiched In (sponsored by the Spartanburg Philharmonic), graduations, and private events. Individually, they may be found in private and public school band rooms, the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Spartanburg Little Theatre musicals, private studios, jazz ensembles, or adjudicating competitions.
The band consists of Ken Frick on Trumpet, Jaime Kirby on Trumpet, Tyler Goodwin on Horn, Mike Miller on Trombone, and Marshall Kirby on Tuba. We hope to see you at FENCE for a wonderful afternoon of music from classical to pop to dixieland.
This event is made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation. FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon. For more information about this or upcoming events call 828-859-9021, email info@fence.org or visit www.fence.org.
