Susan Casey, owner of The Purple Onion announced last that there will be new ownership effective immediately. Although, the torch is not being passed along too far down the line. Longtime Purple Onion employees, Chambli Stuber and Emily Lamar, Casey’s daughter, will continue to lead the success of the restaurant. 

 

The Purple Onion was a shared vision between Susan and her sister Lynn twenty-one years ago. The two of them wanted to create a place for people to gather that characterized Saluda. Although the sisters separated, Susan continued with the vision and has watched their dream thrive within the heart of Saluda.

 

Stuber and Lamar have been statement parts in the success of the Purple Onion. Casey shared, “Emily and Chambli have played pivotal roles in the operation and development of The Purple Onion over the years; especially in the last two years as we began the process of transferring ownership. Their talents and skills complement each other beautifully and most importantly they share the vision of community envisioned when The Purple Onion first opened the doors in 1998.”

 

Purple Onion customers can expect to see the same staff and events. Customers have been promised that the new leadership will not come with any drastic changes to the Purple Onion scene.
