Commissioners appointed to boards

COLUMBUS—As per every year, Polk County Commissioners were appointed as county representatives on area volunteer boards. 

The Polk County Board of Commissioners met last week and approved the appointments. 

Commissioner Chair Myron Yoder, who was appointed as chairman last week, will serve on the Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee and the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.

Commissioner vice chair Tommy Melton will serve on the Health and Human Services Agency and the Library Board of Trustees. 

Commissioner Ray Gasperson will serve on the Agricultural Advisory Board. 

Commissioner David Moore will serve on the Isothermal Planning and Development Commission, the Vaya Health County Commissioner Advisory Board and the Transportation Advisory Committee. 

Commissioner Paul Beiler will serve on the Recreation Advisory Board and the Transportation Advisory Board. 

Commissioners also approved a new board schedule from January through June last week. 

The board will meet at 7 p.m. on the first and third Mondays a month. Meetings are held in the R. Jay Foster Hall of Justice, located on the second floor of the Womack building in Columbus.
