Tryon students decorate pumpkins for fundraiser

Tryon Elementary students took part in a Pumpkin Character Contest just before Thanksgiving, with each class creating a pumpkin with a book character or Thanksgiving theme.
Parents and students could vote for their favorite pumpkin for one penny per vote.
The class receiving the most votes was Jessica Wilkins’ kindergarten class with its version of Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc.
More than $840 was raised in the competition, with the funds to be used for Tryon Elementary PTA projects.
