Several new events are planned for Landrum’s 2nd annual Hogback Mountain Day festival on September 14.
Music during the day by Carolina Divide Bluegrass and the Golden Trumpets will conclude with Music at the Tracks featuring Special Edition, starting at 7:00 p.m.
Jeff and Ginny Chancy, known as The Chalkoholics, will begin work on a 10 foot square colorful drawing at 11:00 a.m. Expected completion time is around 5:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to stop periodically to watch their progress.
Well-known Landrum residents will take 30-minute stints in a dunking booth, and the S. C. National Guard game truck will appeal to video gamers of all ages.
The Well’s Summer Sizzle again will offer free hot dogs and drinks starting at 5:00 p.m. In the same area will be free rides for children and adults, thanks to funding by the City of Landrum.
Some 40 artisans will participate in the Mountain Market and 10 food vendors are also scheduled. Viewing of the city’s Pacolet River pullman car will take place. Business and non-profit vendors are also participating.
All activities will take place on North Trade Avenue. Activities get underway at 8:00 a.m. with the Landrum Farmers Market and antique tractor show sponsored by the Foothills Antique Power Association.
This event is sponsored by The Landrum Area Business Association (LABA), The Well, The City of Landrum and Landrum Fire and Rescue.
