The Board of Directors of Roseland Community Center, Inc., is happy to announce the 2019 Roseland Institute for Summer Enrichment (RISE!) program. 

 

The program will take place July 15 through July 26 at Roseland Community Center in Tryon. The hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to noon on Fridays. The program is available free of charge to children ages 6-12.  

 

The Institute includes directed social, cultural and athletic events, theme days, arts and crafts, music and dance and a number of workshops all designed to give young people a period of wholesome activities during summer break from school. Lunches and snacks, provided by local business and churches are included during the day. 

 

The Program Director is Latisha Miller, Teacher Assistant and Peak After School Director at Tryon Elementary School. Ms. Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from USC Upstate and a Master’s degree from Kaplan University. She is a RISE! alumna and worked as a program assistant with RISE! during her college years. 

 

“The Directors are delighted to have one of our own products take the reins of the program, especially someone of the caliber and experience of Ms. Miller’s,” said Roseland’s President, Dr. Warren Carson. 

 

For the first time, the Polk County Community Foundation has assisted with the funding of the Institute by providing a generous grant.
