Tim Jones will be the guest speaker at the July 9 meeting of the Carolina Camera Club. 

 

Jones attended college as a fine arts student. During his studies of the rich symbolism in Christian iconography, he discerned a call to vocational Christian ministry. While preparing for ordination he continued to study both art and religion. 

 

Since 2001 he has served as the COO of the Hendersonville Rescue Mission, overseeing the daily operations of three campuses, which includes the 77 bed homeless shelter, the public daily feeding program, transitional housing for women and children, a day center and a community outreach center that serves Henderson, Polk and Transylvania Counties. He also serves on several community boards and task forces in WNC.  

 

Jones presentation to the Camera Club is titled “Down Where the Soul Is.” Topics will include how the art and soul of photography have the potential to help bring about wholeness of spirit in a broken world.  

 

The Carolina Camera Club meets from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Polk County Library in Columbus. If you would like to share photos with club members, bring 6-8 photos on a flash drive. Everyone with an interest in photography is welcome.
